IntegriTies

IntegriTies™

IntegriCo’s patented technology has been developed and refined over 15 years time with over $50 million invested to date. Recycled landfill-bound plastics are used to create composite railroad ties that far exceed industry standards for high consistency and structural integrity.

IntegriCo Composites’ IntegriTies™ provide benefits for all major rail tie applications from the extreme loading conditions of Class I heavy axle load applications to the caustic environment of an industrial chemical processing plant. Key benefits are listed below.

TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGE

Because IntegriCo’s technology uses extremely tough plastic material that cannot be processed by competitors, raw material cost is lower than others in the industry. IntegriCo’s patented manufacturing process retains the qualities of plastic that makes it a strong material, as well as permitting the use of unwashed scrap plastic that was previously destined for the landfill. This method reduces costs relative to competing processes which require pre-processing steps to clean the raw materials. IntegriTies™ also eliminate the disposal challenge at the end of the lifecycle through repurchase options.

As a result, IntegriCo raw material costs for any applicable recycled plastic extrusion technology are lower, resulting in a significant competitive advantage. Extrusion technology is the competing composite plastic tie manufacturing technology and requires a different mix of recycled plastics and additional elements which puts it at a cost disadvantage relative to IntegriCo’s product.

IntegriCo’s low processing temperature of recycled plastics enhances intrinsic strength of recycled plastic products compared to hot melt extruded plastic products, leading to an overall higher quality product due to bonds formed among components at lower temperature and no issues with voids created in the tie by outgassing (such as what is experienced with high temperature extrusion processes used by competitors).

The technology used to create our composites allows for use in of a wider array of raw materials. These diversified raw materials streams lead to lower costs and allow for substitution if one class of recycled plastics rises in price relative to other classes.

Process control

IntegriCo’s production facility and process are AAR M-1003 compliant and use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to ensure that quality is integrated into the design and process of all composite rail ties. Products are continually tested to ensure the highest quality and superior performance.
