IntegriCo diverts 80 million pounds of plastics from landfill

Recycling Today

IntegriCo Composites Inc., a leader in the composite industrial products manufacturing industry, says its advanced technology can process hard-to-recycle plastic that would otherwise be sent to a landfill or incinerator. The company has diverted and reused 80 million pounds of plastics.

IntegriCo can recycle mixed residential plastics (MRP) and Nos. 3-7 that are often not able to be recycled due to lack of market. IntegriCo is striving to reduce the amount of plastics consuming through its composite materials made entirely from recycled plastic.

IntegriCo’s products include composite IntegriTies and construction matting. IntegriTies are composite railroad ties made from recyclable plastics. Due to the limited life spans of conventional wood railroad ties, there is a higher cost to replace them, IntegriCo says in a news release. IntegriTies provide strength and durability and have a life span of 50 or more years.

Through utilizing hard-to-process plastics as its feedstock, IntegriCo Composites is diverting plastics from landfills and repurposing them to create railroad ties and construction matting. IntegriCo’s composite products are also completely recyclable themselves.
